Hello,
1.6 alpha is causing major problems in the Hungarian Wikipedia. Something must have changed in the parsing of templates. We have used a "meta-template" to generate the content of Babel templates for some time; take a look at http://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sablon:User_en to see what the templates look like now. (The English template should, of course, look like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:User_en).
All the best, Endre/KovacsUr@huwiki

This rather demonstrates to me the need for a generic "unstable" branch, which is only used automatically on dedicated test sites - i.e. what HEAD used to be. I know this kind of bug wouldn't necessarily be spotted on a test server, but given a bit of a "lead time" the coding change which brought it about might be spotted anyway. Having sites running live from HEAD puts rather a lot of pressure on everyone with CVS access, because they'll be constantly worried that something won't be quite right. But maybe that's just me...

This was fixed shortly after it was reported on IRC.
