If you create
a template which uses <includeonly> and inside that tag
you transclude another template, that second template does not appear
on the list of templates. It does however seem to appear OK on the
list for client pages, i.e. those which transclude the "outer"
template.
Yes. There seems to be something strange. At the moment, to me it looks
like templates existing in older versions of the page that's edited
are also counting.
You have to do null edits all the way down the line to update the linkage
table in each of the client templates as well...
Editing [[en:template:book reference]] at the moment
(2005-12-13 17:30 UTC) still shows usage of qif, though I could swear
I have replaced that with qif now (on all sub-templates too).
Fixed with a null edit: don't know what might have been going on. However I
think that {{booland}} has recently been updated to use {{qif}} instead of
{{if}}, maybe the update hadn't trickled down yet?
