At Wikipedia-en there is a policy against it. For a human-readable encyclopaedia it's a bit of a tacky way of organising sub topics.

Wow. Great reinventing of the wheel. Seriously, it's great to see a new generation of atomicists at work, fighting the good fight ([[User:The Cuncator/Agglomeration]]) but the terminology of root page and branch page is silly and frankly ugly.
