Hello. I was wondering if this type of extension to moderation exists:

There would be a tab for the "unmoderated" version of the page, and one for the "official release" version of the page. People could edit the unmoderated page all they want, but only the moderator can decide what version of the document constitutes an "official release".

The default view of a node would be to see only the "official release".

Normally, the only access control that I've seen is to have the page edited with all changes going live immediately, or to lock down access to editing in some fashion.

This moderated development/release-version system is another approach.

So, does such a system exist? Perhaps it's already in the mediawiki core and I just don't know how to use it yet... Or perhaps there's an extension...
