I think it would be nice if the Wiki syntax could facilitate footnoting of articles. For example:

Some text.<footnote>foo</footnote> Some more text.<footnote>bar</footnote> Even more text.

could produce the following HTML:

Some text.<A HREF="#1">(1)</A> Some more text.<A HREF="#2">(2)</A> Even more text. <OL> <LI><A NAME="1">foo</LI> <LI><A NAME="2">bar</LI> </OL>
