An RSS or Atom newsfeed of the featured article would be useful, and would give people a reason (or reminder) to come back to Wikipedia.

Hi,
I have created such a feed at: http://jeays.net/wikipedia/featured.xml
Right now I have it set up to show the current day's featured article and run at 00:05 UTC. It will display that article alone. The feed would probably not be ideal for you if you are using an aggregator like Amphetadesk, since that only displays the current feeds and you could miss an article if you didn't check it that day (although I have left the lsit of "Recently featured" articles in there). An aggregator like Bloglines (my favorite), or LiveJournal, which store all items, would be perfect. Here is a preview of today's item: http://www.bloglines.com/preview?siteid=612961
It's always possible that something unexpected will happen in the first few days, so please let me know if you notice anything. If anyone wants the perl source you can have it under GPL, just let me know.
If you are interested and not already aware, I generate two other Wikipedia feeds:
Wikipedia Recent Announcements; http://jeays.net/wikipedia/announcements.xml Wikimedia Current News: http://jeays.net/wikipedia/current.xml
Regards,
Mark Jeays [[User:Dze27]]
