Is it expected that the Topic: namespace will be localized into languages
other than English?
Yes.
[1] I ask because the Vietnamese translation would be
"chủ đề" and the
Vietnamese Wikipedia already has a Chủ đề: namespace (corresponding to
Portal: at the English Wikipedia).
The localized name for the Topic namespace will have to be different from
the localized name for the Portal namespace. So it will be a bit
inconsistent with the use of "Chủ đề" for topics in the rest of Flow.
However the Topic: name is not highly visible. The actual topic page titles
are user-unfriendly UUIDs like Topic:Ry6o4jowf78f34gp,
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:Ry6o4jowf78f34gp> so Flow tries to
display whatever users gave as the topic title in the page heading,
notifications, recent changes, watchlists, etc. rather than the page title.
Thanks for helping to localize Flow!
