Could user accounts be integrated between Wikipedias ? (cookie would be set for whole wikipedia.com)

So that people don't have to log for every Wikipedia they modify. It's most annoying when it's just for adding interwiki links - often 5 or more logins would be necessary to do it right.

Oh, and why does login expire so fast ?
