I only really had one question after skimming the report: do you have any
further details about the OpenWebAnalytics work?
<snip>
I thought at some point OWA was nearing deployment
stage, but I haven't been
following the project very closely. I know it's something that both users
and the Wikimedia Foundation are very interested in. They're planning more
hires for this? Do you know how many, when, etc.? Any further details about
this would be appreciated.
An EPM position opened in March, dedicated to Data analytics
specifically:

Until now, it was a responsibility shared by Rob Lanphier, for General
Engineering, and Tomasz Finc, for the Fundraising part.
There's also an engineer position:
http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Job_openings/Systems_Engineer_-_Data_An…
(it was previously called "Data Analytics Engineer")
My understanding is that OWA isn't deployment-ready for us, and in the
meantime people are working on meeting more immediate testing needs.
For example, the "Account creation improvement project" (led by the
Community department) requires A/B testing tools, more than a
full-fledged analytics platform, so Nimish Gautam is focusing on that.
I expect the deployment of the full-fledged analytics platform will be
the main focus of the dedicated team, once they're hired.
Hope that helps,
(Cc:ing Rob so he can correct/complement if needed)
