As far as I can see, the maintenance scripts have not
yet been updated for
Postgres, but don't necessarily need much patching to be made to work.
Minimal changes to the FiveUpgrade.inc file made it possible for me to get
the rebuildImages.php script to work.
I'm seeking feedback as to whether I've missed something obvious about how
to perform this upgrade, or whether this is work that could usefully be
contributed back to the project, and whether anyone is already working on
this and would like to collaborate ?
Quite possibly you could get commit access for the sole purpose of
fixing maintenance scripts to work with PostgreSQL (you would have to
ask Tim or Brion). Or you could submit your patches to Greg Sabino
Mullane, who maintains PostgreSQL support. Or to any other developer
(person with commit access) you could find who's interested in making
sure that the patches at least don't break MySQL functionality and
willing to commit on that basis.
