I've just added a manual purge action that can be invoked like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Main_Page&action=purge

Works for any title, in all wikis. Hope this makes updating pages that pull most content from other pages like the front page easier. A small, hidden link on the main page or similar could make this more acessible if needed.
