Hi,

I received the message below after posting "Wikimedia Foundation Inc. is corrupt and bad. The Web team is a particularly egregious demonstration." in a comment on mediawiki.org.

I stand by my original statement and this attempt to silence criticism makes the organization look even more corrupt and bad.

Subject: Message from the Code of Conduct Committee

Dear MZMcBride,

This is an official message from the technical Code of Conduct Committee. We received a report regarding one of your recent comments at MediaWiki.org <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Topic:Wt8i87odakxnhpyb&topic_showPostId=wt8z7rf5jmodj9ds&fromnotif=1#flow-post-wt8z7rf5jmodj9ds>.

The Committee concluded that the comment is a blatant violation of the Code of Conduct <https://mediawiki.org/wiki/Code_of_Conduct>. While we support a free and open discourse, we cannot accept personal attacks, whether they are aimed at individuals or groups of people. Civility is necessary to maintain a healthy working environment.

For that reason, the Committee decided to **ban you** from Wikimedia technical spaces for **1 month**. The ban is effective immediately and it will expire at May 19, 2022, 06:57 UTC. Note the ban is in force in all Wikimedia technical spaces, including (but not limited to) MediaWiki.org, Phabricator, technical mailing lists such as wikitech-l or Wikimedia Gerrit. Please re-familiarize yourself with the Code of Conduct during the duration of the ban.

Sincerely,
