Hello all,

You might have already heard the buzz: the Wikimedia Hackathon is gearing up for an incredible event in Tallinn, Estonia, from May 3rd - 5th, 2024. Now, we're thrilled to announce that the Registration form is now open! The Registration form also includes an optional Scholarship application which will run until January 5th 2024.

Participation in the onsite Wikimedia Hackathon in Tallinn is contingent upon registration.  The registration portal will remain accessible until we hit our venue's capacity, which is approximately set at 220 participants. Here's the exciting part: the event itself is entirely free of charge ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to join us.  Please note that participants are required to make individual travel arrangements unless they have been awarded a scholarship.

To ensure a vibrant and diverse participation, the Wikimedia Foundation extends scholarships that encompass:

  • Travel

  • Accommodation expenses for a selected group of technical contributors.

The application form is seamlessly integrated into the registration process and will remain accessible until January 5th 2024. For comprehensive details about the scholarship process, committee, and eligibility criteria, please visit the dedicated page.

It's worth noting that the registration and scholarship application form is powered by Pretix, an open-source third-party service, which may introduce additional terms. If you have inquiries regarding privacy and data handling, consult the privacy statement for more information. Your participation matters, and we're committed to making it as accessible as possible!

To collaborate and discuss hackathon plans with fellow participants, we recommend starting conversations on the talk page and exploring the various channels mentioned here.

Should you encounter any questions or encounter issues related to the registration form or scholarship application, don't hesitate to reach out to the organization team. You can connect with us via the talk page or through email at hackathon@wikimedia.org We're here to support you every step of the way!
