ah, interesting. moving this to git sounds ok to me from a technical viewpoint. i read https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikipedia.org_Portal/Migration_to_gerrit. despite that i am not clear how the current portal maintainers would then activate a proposal e.g. from the discovery team?
