I stumbled across the news that Bryan was moving to this new role a couple of weeks ago, and was thrilled. When he told me about his planned focus, I was even more excited. We often don't realize how dependent some of our projects have become on tools designed and maintained by volunteers - until they stop working. These tools are one of the hidden underpinnings that help make the Wikimedia family of projects successful - and it's great to see someone who is so passionate about this taking on the role.

I for one am psyched to see this news :)
Arthur: I am confident that you aren't alone here!
Congratulations Bryan, and thank you for taking this initiative. I
predict
that this will be both fun and rewarding for you while also having a very positive impact on developer productivity and morale. I'm going to start immediately reading all of the references and looking for ways to help
out.
