Noindex will impact the use of google to find interior pages and shouldn't be done until our own search engine is more functional. Eventually we *should* turn it on.. if nothing else than to avoid confusing random outsiders with our sausage making (just as we've done with the AFD pages).
I was unaware of the NOINDEX on AfD, and would extend it to CfD and TfD. There's no need for indexing User and User talk, either, and for similar reasons. Again, supports the notion of fairly fine-grained control.
Can the http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5523 patch be extended to NOINDEX?
