This actually works much more smoothly than most of the examples of
misuse of AJAX to which I referred. At least it doesn't make each
character in the entry field wait on each character being rendered
before proceeding in the entry field (thank goodness). It's still kind
of slow and cumbersome, but not nearly as bad as what I'd previously
encountered.
