To answer my own question: This is impossible due to elementary logic.
In Serbian, for example, "I was here".
...will disclose the gender in both cases, obviously. I'll admit that you'd need a rather clumsy expression to avoid that (I guess that something along the lines of "I spent [the last weekend] here" should do), but as I said, a) it's not true for German and b) I don't really care, I just wanted to point out that with this we're more or less forcing registered users to disclose their sex (though you could still click the other radio button).
(Having just read Eugenides' novel "Middlesex": Do we have any users that don't consider themselves neither male nor female? But maybe I'm getting too far off, I'd better stop commenting this any further.)
