Take it to the VP (technical) on en:wp and I would be amazed if people
don't protest hugely at the prospect of it disappearing. Maybe I'm
wrong, but asking the users would be a good idea first.
Feel free to do so if you think it's an issue. It wouldn't be
terribly hard to keep the current behavior, I don't think.

I personally don't think it's worth fixing. The likelihood of error
in keeping the categorylinks table up-to-date with page moves is just
too great to be worth bothering over.
