Just a general update:
* The primary Apache docroots are now NFS-free.
Some additional bits like the
www.*.org portals have been moved into the
locally-copied common files set, and old symlinks for uploads and wikistats have
been eliminated in favor of always redirecting at HTTP level.
Erik Zachte's wikistats are now on
stats.wikimedia.org, which is served via
albert for the moment.
* However some MediaWiki monitoring and diagnostic logs still need to be moved
over to a non-NFS system. Until those are fixed, a failure on primary NFS could
still hang Apache processes.
* /home is still being served from suda; zwinger is still usable as a login
point, but it will get reinstalled at some point so we can finally upgrade from
the old red hat 9. :)
* The latest greatest versions of some files may still be in /home/from-zwinger.
Copy as needed.
Additionally, Tim's been setting up failover for our LVS, and an LVS in front of
the squids in Tampa like we already have in Kennisnet and Yahoo clusters. This
should ease the load balancing and failover of the primary proxy servers, which
we had had on an ugly round-robin DNS rotation for some time.
Tim's also setting up the new squid boxes we got in a few weeks ago; there was
some delay in getting those online due to a weird SATA driver which complicated
installation.
