ICFAI
Dear Sir,
We find the article titled "Economy of Sri Lanka " quite useful and thus we would like to incorporate it in our forthcoming executive reference book on "Sri Lankan Economy" Hence we request you to permit us to publish the above referred article in our journal book.
Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) is a non-profitable organization established to impart quality education in management and finance. Our publication wing "ICFAI Books" is publishing various digest journals/magazines and executive reference books for use of student of our institution for the purpose of academic discussion, study and research, besides application in practical functioning. It is basically a wing of our academic institution, meant for publishing to cater to the educative needs of students and staff. However journals/books are priced to recover the cost of editing, printing and distribution and not for making profits. Any money that eventually earned, if any, over and above the costs would be naturally included into the publication/academic pool for the above referred objectives only.
Besides generating original articles and books, we are deliberately providing enough fields for accommodating plurality of views and multiplicity of ideas for the benefit of learning and free flow of different thought on a variety of topics.
Hence, we seek your permission for publishing the above-mentioned article in our forthcoming book on "Sri Lankan Economy" and expect continued cooperation for spread of knowledge. We will acknowledge the source with due respect/as per your suggestion.
We would be glad if you can send us an early reply as we have a fast approaching deadline.
Thanking you,

Sorry for my bothersome insisting on this topic:
When will be an database update for the german wikipedia be available?
Since de.wikipedia has exceeding the 200'000 article limit, I want to
write an article for our newspaper referring to this. But not before the
mirror (http://lexikon.rhein-zeitung.de/) of our online service has been
updated ;-)

Hi all,
I'm looking for suggestions and best practices on how to embed flash
movies into the mediawiki.
Sample snippet we want to use:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swfl
ash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="950" height="600" id="main"
align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie"
value="http://nike-qa.ny.rga.com/blog/media/swf/main.swf" />
<param name="base" value="media/swf/" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
<embed src=" swf/main.swf" base="blog/media/swf/" quality="high"
bgcolor="#ffffff" width="950" height="600" name="swf/main"
align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>
</object>
We changed the variable $wgUserHtml to allow the tags used above and put
all the statements in one line.
The problem we have left is that all URLS within the HTML snippet are
translated.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swfl
ash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="950" height="600" id="main"
align="middle">
Turns into
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="<a
href="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.
cab#version=7,0,0,0" class='external'
title="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash
.cab#version=7,0,0,0">http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cab
s/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0</a>" width="950" height="600"
id="main" align="middle">
The codebase attribute gets translated.
Is there a way to turn that off?
Appreciate your help,
Stan

You may use rebuildlinks/refreshlinks scripts from maintenance/ package.
If imagelinks would be included, so should links, categorylinks, brokenlinks, math and all other metadata tables, which can be generated out from cur..

Do you mean pulling account information from an external source to use for
the users? If so, my latest LDAP Authentication patch added that support to
AuthPlugin, and added hooks into the core code (it also added hooks for
modifying the Login Template, adding users, updating the external source,
etc).

Hi,
I have a fragment of wikitext in an extension, and I'm desperately
trying to get it parsed.
My extension works perfectly, what I just don't know is :
__how to convert my wikitext to html__ ??
Can someone tell me how to do that. It must be the simplest thing but I
can't find the correct class and the correct method.
EXAMPLE:
*****************
$mytext= "=== MyTitle ===";
$mytext .= "some more text, with [[links]]";
$output = turn_That_To_Html($mytext); // <-- HERE IS MY PROBLEM
return output;
*****************
Thanks for any hint,
François
