Github has one possible solution for this problem, called Gists (https://gist.github.com/) — a Gist is one or more files stored online and available for sharing or download with minimal information on who created them. Github tracks the version history of the files, who contributed to it, and allows any user to “fork” (duplicate) a Gist, while preserving the previous version history and linking back to the original Gist. That’s what I use to store and share code stubs!
