Hi list,

It was proposed in 2016 Community Wishlist to implement the open-source Internet Archive Book Reader in Commons and Wikisource (see this phab ticket).

A couple of days back, User:Jayprakash12345 has created a tool based on that request (see this phab ticket). To get a glimpse of what this new reader looks like, check the reader for this book.

I think, we can now start a discussion whether this reader should be the default reader for Wikisource or Commons replacing the existing reader which is suitable for pictures but has limitations for viewing book.
