Thank you Tpt.
I stumbled across this extension because today my collegues came to me asking about the Proofread extension and TEI.
the have a very common problem: they need a collaborative TEI editor for transcribing a scanned manuscript.
This is something we know, as many GLAMs and professors have the same issue;
and this is something that wikisource did not know how to handle.
My question is:
could we have that extension within a proper TEI namespace, together with the Proofread page extension?
In that extension, we could just allow TEI tags. No other wikitext.
That would take care of the formatting too, because then the HTML would be generated by the TEI tags.
I'm not sure of how many people could be interested in working in this environment on Wikisource
(the software would be perfect, but Wikisource itslef is release in CC-BY-SA,
and many teams would maybe want *their* TEI formatting to be associated with them, etc.)
but I think it would be worth trying.
We would be finally be a transcription platform feasible for academic purpose...
