I just saw this: http://developer.yahoo.net/blog/archives/2009/01/wikipedia_w_yql.html
Apparently, microformats are getting more easy to use, and are thus increasingly used. We do use some microformats, but could we use more, especially automated via templates?

Hoi, Can you explain what this is about. The blog you refer to does not make any sense to me. From my perspective, the last thing that I want is more clutter and as it is not obvious what this is about, I would consider it clutter. Thanks, GerardM

Hoi, Having read the article, does it not make more sense and use Semantic MediaWiki? This does provide an equivalence to the microformats without all the overhead that is brought with yet another non integrated approach. Thanks, GerardM

There's quite a lot of these buried in templates on en:wp. As the template system on en:wp gets more esoteric, it gets better - as long as the user has a simple interface {{templatename|field1="1"|field2="2"}} etc, the plumbing behind that can be as sophisticated as geeks want to make it.
