As the co-founder of scn:wiki, I am appreciative of the assistance provided by Mark Williamson and everyone else involved with wikipedia. I note that some upgrades have taken place over the past few weeks or so. Everyone may be aware by now that the special characters at the bottom of the editing pages have disappeared. I am wondering whether there is an easy way to salvage these (it took me forever to work out how to get them there in the first place!). I am confident that many other languages besides Sicilian are affected. Can anyone suggest something I might be able to do? A merry Xmas to all! Bon natali e capu d'annu! Salutamu pippu

Some formerly HTML UI bits are now wikitext to increase security, resilience against mistakes and bugs, and aid general ease of use. You can now create the special character insertions using an extension, which should actually be much easier than the old way of cut-n-pasting a lot of JavaScript links.
For an example, see the source for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning
