Some evil guys attack Chinese Wikipedia by registing new users endlessly, please help us to disable new user register.

Isn't there a function to hide new account creation from recent changes?
Because other than screwing up RC, I can't see what problems it could possibly cause.

Well, yes, but I meant, is it causing any attacks in the here-and-now since people seem to be extremely concerned about this whole thing.

I agree with Mark, and raise the question of why we worry about these mass account creation sprees? As long as we block them before they "age", does it really cause a problem? Should we be worried about them, or are we just giving the vandals undue attention?
