The GNU FDL requires that the original main authors be acknowledged,
and also that URLs of the original version of the document be
retained. Removing these attributions would be a breach of copyright
law.
Note that the attribution doesn't have to be on every page; just once within
one Document, which is the entire collation of pages. So people can copy
articles from Wikipedia to their site, and as long as they link to Wikipedia
right next to their copyright notice (generally speaking) for the site, they
don't have to link to Wikipedia in the articles.
