Dear All,

A discussion has started on the Open Street Map Bangladesh mailing list that, if the `name` should be written in Bengali or in English [1]. It is up for discussion as a number of volunteers are adding and editing name using Bengali scripts.

The general community guideline suggests that the name should be in the local language. On the other hand, the OSM community users are actively using names in English for about five years and they were doing so for addressing and overcoming a number of issues.

For resolving conflicts and agrees on a commons standard a open discussion is necessary. Those of us, who are on the OSM Bd mailing list has already seen the thread. But if you not in the list and want to discuss on this topic please join the list and add you comments there.[2]
