Dear all,
I'm writing you all to discuss few important things about Assamese
Wikipedia and the Wiki community. You all might have read about Vishnu
Vardhan, A2K's new programme director has joined the team and he's been
meeting wikipedians in various language communities to know more about them
and to explore how A2K could support them.
Vishnu and I are planning to come down to Assam for few days to meet you
all and meet few educational research institutes which could benefit the
community. North Eastern Regional Language Centre (NERLC), Guwahati, one of
the important research institutes of North Eastern Indian languages has
shown interest and are willing to meet. Mrs. Kheuji Sharma from Assamese
department has agreed for a meeting on 13th March (Time to be confirmed,
mostly afternoon around 12/12.30).
We would like to discuss about the interest of the Assamese Community
before we meet the faculty of NERLC on an IRC. Will that be possible for
you all to join on IRC ( *IRC Channel #wikipedia-as* ) tomorrow around *8/8.30
pm*. This would be for 30 mins and we would discuss about these
meetings.
Please let us know your availability and any suggestions for change in
timing. We also would like to meet the wikipedians in person and invite
them to join us for the meeting with Mrs. Sharma. Do let us know about your
availability.
