As you know the Wikisource for Assamese will be created soon. But before that we need to do some background tasks. I am giving the details of those tasks below.

1. Name spaces:
Wikisource require some of the extra name spaces to handle it effectively (once Assamese wikisource is created). Language committee will ask you this very soon. Those name spaces are.
  1. Author
  2. Author talk
  3. Index
  4. Index talk
  5. Page
  6. Page talk
  7. Portal
  8. Portal talk
Of these Author, Index, and Page  are used very frequently for Wikisource (See English wikisource for example, Author, Index, Page). Portal is as you know is used in Wikipedia also.
 
So ideally when the Wikisource is approved by WMF Board, Developers will ask for the Assamese equivalent of these words. So keep those ready. You need to enter that in the bug that will be created for this purpose.


2. Logo
You need to create a logo for Assamese wikisource. .As a sample sanskrit wikisource is here http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikisource-logo-sa.svg  Create Assamese version of this logo. In case case you need support on SVG editing let me know I will help.

3. Sub page feature:

In the request you need to ask them to enable subpage feature also. in Assamese Wikisource. To understand this, see this bug. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28129

4. Scanned copy of few Assamese wikibooks

To give proper publicity and to attract more users to Assamese wikisource we need to have the scanned copy of some good old Assamese books which are in Public domain. We need the scanned copy of old books for easy digitization.
