Regardless of joining logins in between blogs and the wiki and getting the
blogs up and running, I think
should be the main priority.
Personally, I'm a big fan of basing the site on Wordpress, as it is very
easy to update and run and can look good as well.

As the original programmer behind the
http://wikinewsie.org site, I'm more
than happy to offer my services.
Since I coded that site, I've learned a how bunch in regards to PHP, OOP,
and web development.

Someone else can issue Wikinewsie wiki passes; it isn't used much, but
it is there to play with.
The rest of
http://www.wikinewsie.org just needs a makeover.
What would people suggest as the OSS tools for the job? I have some free
time...
