Dear Board members,
I'm writing as user and admin of the German Wikinews. One day I edited the local copyright page and asserted, that the Wikimedia Foundation Inc. decided on September 25th, 2005 to implement the CC-BY 2.5 license in all Wikinews projects. Recently another admin answers on the question of an third party webmaster, what he has to do by copying Wikinews content on his site, with "terming Wikinews as author".
At the moment I don't know exactly, if there was a Board decision on September 25th, 2005 and I don't know the result of the decision and perfectly I don't know wherefrom I got that date.
My problem is that on every document on Foundation sites or in mails on the foundation list, I found just "CC-BY 2.5". On the other hand on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikinews/Licensure_Poll#CC-BY_2.5 there are under the subheading "CC-BY 2.5" the words "with the attribution to the Wiki" etc.
My question is now, what did the Board decided exactly? After that, I could implement it to the local wiki with the knowledge to write the right things.
With best regards

One more thing that should also be clarified, the Sept 25 date has no relation to any board decision. This date, is just the day MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning was updated to reflect the switch on EN Wikinews. I updated MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning, at 00:01, so that EN wikinews would have any easy start date/time. Other WN editions, may have other dates/times. Many will be close, since the switch and the required changes were discussed that day on IRC with several other editions admins, but I would imagine some of the less active Wikinews editions may have been slow in making the changes.
