The vote was started, by me but my intentions were not for a "flash player" but merely for a player in general. Any kind of player IMO would be fine...although I don't much prefer flash...

Yeah. Any content held in Flash format is non-free (content must
be
freely accessible). Since this is in conflict with Wikimedia's aims,
why is it being put to a vote?
