I am writing to inform you that the Board of Trustees may make their final
decision around the week of March 30 and release the results via Meta and
Diff.
I would like to ask whether there is any interest among Wikinews
contributors in migrating to a self-hosted server or to another wiki farm
such as Miraheze. To be clear, self-hosting would involve ongoing costs,
and I am not sure how sustainable that would be in the long term.
I am raising this now because it is unclear how much time the Board of
Trustees might allow for migration after making their final decision,
especially if all Wikinews editions are locked permanently. Given this
uncertainty, some level of pre-planning may be worth considering.
Best regards,
