Dear Wikimedia Community,

Wiki Debates brings together teams from across our diverse movement to engage in virtual, debate-style sessions on key topics, including knowledge equity, internet freedom, cultural representation, governance, and the future of the Wikimedia movement. This initiative aims to promote critical thinking, encourage collaboration across regions, and foster a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face as a global community.

The pilot season will feature 16 Wikimedia affiliates engaging in a series of moderated debates, progressing through a bracket-style format until a winner is declared by an independent jury with room for public participation and voting. The Themes will be crowdsourced from the community to ensure inclusivity and relevance.
