Dear Douglas,
That was a wonderful workshop we had at the Western Cape provincial
Government on 17th February, WikiAfrica which is the project i
represented was able to gauge and familiarize itself with the need to
increase awareness of the importance of Wikipedia and its projects. It
was interesting to see the audience excited and appreciative at what
they could do in generating and editing articles.
Wiki Africa (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiAfrica) looks
forward in engaging and having outreach meetings that will encourage
the contribution of citizen archivists, citizen historians, and
citizen journalists across Africa to African Wikipedia by generating
and expanding articles so as to address the critical imbalance of
factual information about historic and contemporary Africa.
Looking forward to seeing you in the next meeting!

Hello everyone,
This is just a quick notification that the follow up
Xhosa language workshop will be held this weekend on Saturday, 25th
February at the same place and time as the last workshop. The Bessie Head
Computer Lab in the basement of the Beattie Building, University of Cape
Town from 09h00 to 11h00.
I have also attached some pictures from the last Xhosa wiki awareness

Friday. Many thanks to Francis at Wikiproject Africa for taking these
pictures.
Cheers,
Douglas.
