Find attached previews of the mapping and heritage data the City of Cape Town can offer us. I am currently tied down with a crazy semester table, so if someone in the Cape Town area can meet up with these guys it would be excellent.

Kind regards
Lourie

Hi Lourie

I think we need to meet as soon as possible – hopefully you could bring a short proposal to us?

·         Rondebosch:  Shows aerial with places that have been identified in a past heritage survey and were considered at the time to have some heritage value.  These need updating and validating. We have about 25 000 sites on this layer.
·         Mowbray:  Showing an overlay C 1905
·         1895 over 2011: showing Thoms survey of 1895 of the City over current aerial.

I think a call for then and now pics relating to the maps and heritage layer and inviting suggestions for conservation-worthy sites, stories, memories and information would be good.

Give me a call anytime.

Hello David

I am following up our discussions from our meeting last week (Wikimedia ZA running Wiki Loves Monuments). Can you maybe send me those screenshots about the maps you have shown me? Also, when can we potentially meet for a follow-up? We are very keen for working with the city! You can take a look at our website, even though it is still under development: http://wikilovesmonuments.co.za.

Kind regards
Lourie
