The treasure hunt lists have been uploaded here: http://wikilovesmonuments.co.za/wiki/TreasureHunt

Some modifications should still be made, such as correcting typos and so forth. The page description should also still be added, such as mentioning what the treasure hunt is.

Thanks Komi. We will create a page on our website (http://wikilovesmonuments.co.za) that explains the treasure hunt and lists each of these sites. Will notify you as soon as it is online and check whether you are happy with it.

Kind regards
Lourie

Dear Isla,

Attached please find the "treasure-hunt" sites (10 in each province).
I am suggesting that it becomes part of the photography in awarding the
prizes, as we will not be able to sources prizes for this.
Add to your photography criteria, the best picture and  the number of "
treasure sites" found would also count.

Kind regards,

Komi

Hi Isla, yes we are still interested in this approach. The list we sent
to Maarten and Lourie has the lat long columns, and, many are blank or
incorrect. The sites for the treasure hunt would come out of one of
these - I'll ask Komi to pick sites from each region that she thinks are
the hardest to find or perhaps have some other characteristic that will
bring them to the top of the list - it would be nice of course to get
them all mapped in one go but that would simply be complicating things
and expecting too much from the general public at this stage. She is
back in on Monday and I'll help her pick the sites so that you have the
selected sites list by the end of day on Monday.
All the best,
Nic

Dear Nic

Hi! With my Wiki Loves Monuments hat on, I am currently getting
together the
press kit for general release and I wanted to know if you had put any
more
thought to the Wiki Loves Monuments¹ treasure hunt, where SAHRA
releases 1-2
sites per region or city that you want found. We did discuss this, and
I
think it would be an excellent addition to  the competition, allowing
for
more local excitement and by-in. Please let me know if you are still
keen to
do this, and if so - when I can get the list of sites you are looking
for,
and what prizes you would consider giving to the winners. We would have
to
also set the criteria for this section of the competition, especially
how an
entry/ies would be deemed the winner/s.

Thanks!
Isla
