Hello everyone

During the past week, there were not many responses to the call of attendees for the AGM two weeks from now. From the Meta page (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_South_Africa/AGM1) only the following people showed interest in attending:
Just a reminder that we plan to have the agenda finalized by next week Saturday (25 August), so please try to give some input if you want to. I started to look at methods that can be used for voting by those who cannot attend the meeting. I see that some of the other chapters use a dedicated vote system, which normally works together with the membership database. Currently we do not have such a system in place, so we cannot use this method. I am not sure how such voting is done normally, but I propose that members can email their votes to a dedicated email address (vote@wikimedia.org.za) which will then be forwarded to the board list. That way members can cast votes without other members knowing them, but yet casting them to a well maintained database. These lists are well archived, so this means we can easily keep track of what is happening.

This is just a suggestion, so please drop me a line and let me know what you think. Another thing before I forget, it is also possible to get someone else to be your proxy at the meeting. If anyone is interested in this option, please let me know so that we can get the paperwork in order. It is required to give written permission to your person of choice to represent you.

Kind regards
Lourie
