There is tonnes of spam coming through at the moment. For the admins,
there are ways to deal with this. A common one is to make all posts on
the list moderated, and then to whitelist those that make (or have made)
valid posts. So all new posts will be held for moderation, which is a
minor convenience for first-time posters only, but removes the spam, and
once a user is whitelisted their posts go through immediately without
action from the moderators
