Hi fellow Wiki-Americans,

I'd like to start a conversation about the Great American Wiknic, and planning for the 2015 edition.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wiknic

On different years we have chosen different suggested dates, and last year we generally moved the events from June to July, to make space for the Wiki Loves Pride campaign.

User:Quinto Simmaco has put up two suggested dates on the wiki-page for 2015, Sunday July 5 or Saturday July 24, with each location choosing what suits them best.

I generally like the idea of two different weekends to choose from, but I'd like to find out if these are the ones folks prefer.  It would be good to settle on some suggested dates, so we can promote more widely, and get planning with local events soon.

(Of course, any one or two dates we suggest would be merely suggestions, and folks can pick any date in the summer that suits them best.

The major overlapping event for Wiknic this year will be Wikimania, which including preconference runs from July 15-19.)

Thanks,
Richard
