Sorry about this guys. It seems we're all too disorganised to host Wikimania anyway. I was due to hear from the master of Balliol in the next week or so. (In fact I was going to a dinner he'd be attending on Wednesday and was intending to collar him then...) I'd done quite a lot of work on the bid page, though obviously without knowledge of how much Balliol could help us reduce costs it wasn't a particularly convincing bid. Unless we can persuade them to make an exception (seems unlikely) I guess it's 2010 now, which has the minor drawback of being in theory after I will have finished my DPhil so I might not be able to be as involved as I would otherwise.
