Hopefully th OII can be convinced and if they can sort out the internally saving us alot of hassle. In the next 8 days i suggest we try and find alternatives in case this falls through.

You may be right on the first count, we’ll see when I meet with them. On the latter I think it would be unwise to do it over the heads of those I’ve already contacted, but perhaps if they are sufficiently enthused and we’d OK’d it with them (or better still got them to do it) then it might be acceptable (and useful).

It is likely that the OII would have greatly reduced rates for holding conferences, it may even be worth getting in touch with the vice chancellor of the university.
