Yes, my reading of the FDC's comments is that they feel we could improve the way in which we communicate and work with volunteers and I think we would all agree with that. However, I don't think the successful outcome is anything to do with the weak pound but rather a strong proposal based on a good strategic plan, excellent partnership working and increased reach and impact over the past year.

Interesting reading, especially about the handling of volunteers. As someone who deals with WMUK and its WiR folk in various ways, I wouldn't describe its responsiveness as exactly slick; and it seems the FDC is voicing something of what I feel, in different language. There may have been a one-off advantage gained from the weak pound, so let's hope this year's successful bid can be leveraged into some further progress.
