I think you missed the point that this year was also "good practice"
and demonstrated that Wikimania UK, and a lot of people outside of the
organisation, are committed to researching things through and getting
this stuff sorted well in advance. Rule Britannia, and all that.
While I don't agree that a bid shouldn't be entered, I do agree that
wasting time preparing an unofficial bid, when no-one cares (Wikimania
2007 hasn't happened, that'll be on the radar blipping like there's no
tomorrow until it does) at this stage.
