No effect I can see but Richard who monitors these things is in interviews all day.I get notification of one-off and In fact a few quite generous donations over the last 24 hours which surprised me.  (£66.40 in total)  These normally happen at the weekend when I suppose people are at home, using wikipedia and then feel generous. This was a bit different.
Can't really think there is a link one way or not.
