Dear all

I am sharing this information, it is still being developed/ refined and welcome your thoughts, feedback and offers to host events!

During Wikimania 2021 we are looking to facilitate in-person meet ups, based on Wiknics. These would be an opportunity to:

• Bring our community together at a series of friendly picnic events.
• A relaxed opportunity for community members & families, and those new to the community to come together and celebrate Wiki at 20/ Wikimania and get to know each other. 

We are in the process of confirming a couple of events, with an open invitation to you to host and arrange a Wiknic across the 5 days of Wikimania 2021.

To support and facilitate Wiknics, Wikimedia UK will deliver:

• Hosting guidance 
• Promotional material templates
• Event souvenirs 
• Grants for refreshments. 

To even contemplate in person activity, I have completed the Foundation Risk Assessment. Of course if any local or national Covid-19 guidance changes and means in-person events cannot go ahead we will support people to move their Wiknic online. 

As mentioned these plans are still in development. It would be wonderful to hear your thoughts, suggestions or offers to host an event.
