  Open Rights Group

Dear Jon Davies,

Our ORG Law Fund campaign has nearly reached its target!

We now only need 30 more paying supporters – thanks to the generosity of many. We’re nearly at enough to fund a part-time Legal Officer for ORG.

Please help us reach our goal and get to 150 by Christmas!

It isn’t just about cases like Golden Eye.

We let MPs and companies know there is someone out there who will intervene on your behalf and defend digital rights in every way possible.

There are more and more arrests, like Paul Chambers, for social media communications.

The BPI are increasing the number of web blocking injunctions with insufficient transparency about what will be blocked.

These cases could easily affect you:

You could be arrested for a joke on Facebook, find your website blocked and see your personal details meekly handed over to private companies by your ISP.

ORG needs to be able to intervene in the courts on these issues. We have to fight against those who, as Cory Doctorow says, want to see the internet become a place of censored views and unaccountable mall-cop authority.

Please consider donating £5 a month to ORG.

We also offer a reduced rate for students and the unwaged at £5 a year – every supporter makes our voice more powerful.

Please help us make our goal

Sincerely,

Ruth Coustick

P.S. If you are in London on Monday we’ll be having a Christmas party/ London supporter meet-up, please do come along and join us for a drink.

If you wish to opt out of future emails, you can do so here.
If you like what we do, please join us
