The University of Edinburgh have organised the following free event open to all which you are cordially invited to attend. Take a walk on the macabre side of Edinburgh this Autumn!

• 13 November: Edinburgh Gothic event for Robert Louis Stevenson Day

The morning session comprises three scintillating talks from Edinburgh Gothicists and guests from Sheffield University’s Centre for the History of the Gothic aimed at reconceptualising current understandings of Gothic fiction:

• Lauren Nixon and Mary Going – the History of doubling in the Gothic.
• Robyn Pritzker – The wild gothic tales of Fanny Stevenson.
• Vicki Madden – Shirley Jackson and American Gothic fiction.
• Full training will be given for our afternoon Gothic Wikipedia editathon (and data hack) on Gothic art, architecture, literature and Lost Literary Women.
